What it means on the ground

A GDACS alert says how strong the hazard was. It does not say who was in its path, what was already fragile there, or what to watch in the weeks after. A Watchfloor report reads this event against population, food security, conflict and access, cites every number to its source, and is approved by a person before it reaches you.

Hazard data: GDACS (Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System), event EQ 1570077.
